I have been an active photographer for the past forty years. I first started taking pictures shortly after college using a fully manual 35 mm Nikon FM camera. Over the years my photography has ranged from analog to digital and from film negative to jpeg. Several years ago, I retired from my career in Biotechnology and I rededicated myself to film based photography and darkroom printing. The darkroom has now become my new laboratory and I greatly enjoy experimenting with different photographic papers, developers, and toners. My photographic style is reflected in this spirit of experimentation and I strive to create a photographic image rather than just record it.

My wife and I have lived in the Pacific Northwest, both Seattle and Portland, for almost forty years. We currently live in Portland, Oregon, and all of my photographic film developing and printing is done in my home darkroom.

My work has been exhibited nationally at a variety of galleries, including the Rayko Gallery in San Francisco, the Soho Gallery in NYC, the Lightbox Photographic Gallery in Astoria (OR), the Blackbox Gallery in Portland (OR), the Photoplace Gallery in Middlebury (VT), and the Photographic Center Northwest in Seattle.
